Leicester's Only Pub Theatre
Upstairs at the Western is Leicester’s only pub theatre. We programme at least 50% female or non-binary led work with a focus on small cast high quality shows.
After 18 months of closure due to Coronavirus we opened again in September 2021. We survived this terrible time due to emergency funding from Arts Council England. Since we’ve returned we’ve had a season of shows and started new projects for our community with crafts and walks.
We are a 42 seat black box theatre with full tech and projection.
We are above the fabulously renovated ‘The Western’ – a much loved community pub now with Cafe West in the heart of Leicester’s vibrant West End!
