Fixing – Work in Progress
Which is easier to fix; a 1954 Sunbeam Talbot, or a family relationship?
When I was little, my dad had a classic car, and fond ideas of it being something we would do up, repair, rebuild together. We never did, and it festered in a garage.
Now at the end of my 20s, I like wearing dresses more than fixing engines. But I’ve started talking to dad about that car, and about that time when I was little. About when him and my mum split up. And about how to repair an engine.
Through poetry and storytelling, this early work in progress will try to ask, how do we go about fixing?
