The Memory, Dream…Trilogy

The Memory, Dream…Trilogy is a work in progress performance by ‘Funmi Adewole Elliott.  Combining dance and poetry, personal narrative and folktales, her performance shifts back and forth; between England and Nigeria, girlhood and womanhood.

Part 1 -The sleepwalker’s dream, is about a girl who cannot tell if she is awake. Part 2 – The Blind Side, is about a teller of folktales who struggles to speak whilst the woman in part 3 – The Vigil – dances out her search for life beyond algorithms.

This surreal but accessible trilogy explores themes of despair, finding hope and holding out.
